Trends and triggers redux: Climate change, rainfall, and interstate conflict.

The paper made two  two novel contributions to the study of climatic impacts on conflict: first, it attempted a comprehensive test of the effects of precipitation on interstate conflict; second, it developed a theoretical framework, premised in the bargaining model, which moves beyond simple neo-Malthusian conjectures about the relationship between resource scarcity and conflict.
