For two of the poorest regions in Minas Gerais, a place of major mining projects - the Norte de Minas and the Médio Espinhaço - this study aims to: (a) a methodologic discussion of possible scenarios, given the implementation of mining projects - foreseen and in deployment; (b) thinking, from the main results, on the challenges in terms of creating new social needs (health, education, housing).
